Holy Dating, Unholy Drama
A Christian Relationship Comedy
by Vivian Sunshine
She's praying for a husband, but Nairobi keeps sending her the wrong brothers.
Nia is a choir girl in Nairobi who has given God a firm deadline for love, and she is tired of waiting. Between church crushes, suspicious networking at the gate, and a charming man who prefers a personal relationship with God over any accountability, her prayers are getting noisy and her heart is getting bruised. Told with humor and a reflective heart, this Christian romantic comedy asks what it means to trust God's timing when every voice around you is offering advice.

A Nairobi choir girl prays for a husband and keeps meeting red flags
Nia sings in the choir, trusts God, and finds Nairobi men questionable. After service, her best friend Wanjiku runs the real ministry: matchmaking. Soon Nia is fending off Kevin, who prefers a personal relationship with God, and Daniel, who wants to pray about their wedding fourteen minutes after meeting.
The humour lives in quick lines and church detail. Nia opens one eye during worship to scan for potential. She answers a first text with "Stay blessed." Each chapter closes with a short reflection on waiting, discernment and self-worth, so the comedy carries a gentle devotional thread.
It suits Christian women navigating singleness, church dating culture and the pressure of friends' engagement posts. The chapters are brief and read well one at a time.
Perfect for: Single Christian women · Clean faith-based romcom fans · A short devotional-style read

God is real. Love is beautiful. Nairobi men? Questionable. She adjusted her dress slightly as she sat in church, trying to look focused while her mind was doing everything except focusing. “Father Lord,” she whispered, bowing her head just enough to look spiritual, “I’m ready now.”
A pause. “Like... actually ready. Not 2020 ready. This is serious.” The worship team was singing, and everyone around her had their eyes closed, hands lifted, deep in the Spirit. Nia opened one eye. Just small. To scan. For potential. Nothing. Just the same faithful faces: Married couples holding hands Aunties judging silently That one brother who shouts “Amen!” like he’s being paid per volume She sighed and closed her eye again. “God, even Ruth found her Boaz in a foreign land. Me, I can’t even find a serious man in Nairobi?” After service, the real ministry began. Not prayer. Not evangelism. Networking.
